Hello blog readers! I am Phillip Wiggins and I am a senior student at Morehouse College, a founder and managing partner for Logue Log LLC, and a business development strategist for iFundie LLC. I currently write for the Morehouse Entrepreneurship Center blog, which I helped to design and develop. I am passionate about entrepreneurship, and excited about the opportunities it promises education. I am thrilled to share my stories with the REEP blog, and about this entrepreneurship and education connection! My classmate Tre’von is a perfect example of the marriage of these two businesses. Entrepreneurs turn problems into opportunity. Tre’von McKay ’14, Founder and CEO of McKay Industries, LLC, recognized a problem: the SGA and the school’s administration was not effectively using technology to communicate with students.
Rather than gripe about the problem, Tre’von recognized an opportunity and built a solution. Tiger Mobile is a mobile application for iOS that lets students access all of the resources of TigerNet via their smartphones. The application also gives students access to announcements from the SGA and articles published in the Maroon Tiger.
Tiger Mobile is a prime example of a young entrepreneur seizing an opportunity. I would like to commend Tre’Von on his gumption and hard work. The application is a great tool that is going to make life easier for the Morehouse student.
You can read the full story by the Maroon Tiger on Tre’Von here.
Tiger Mobile is available for free on the Apple App Store.
The first stage of the application will allow students to access grades, finances, schedules, campus maps, the SGA website and The Maroon Tiger.  For phase two, Tre’Von would like to include a mobile book exchange system.
What other functionality should Tre’Von include? How could this app be most useful in his collegiate environment?

Hi Phillip! Welcome to the blog~~ I found an interesting organization that is tracking what is happening in the high tech/education space. It is called EdSurge. Find it on Facebook, like them and you will get the newsletters. Besty Corcoran is leading this effort from Silicon Valley. Maybe you can lead the efforts on the East Coast.
PS: Great initiative on the part of Tre’von!
